With recipes using everything from beer to wine to soda, for all kinds of poultry, “Zen and the Art of Cooking Beer-Can Chicken” is destined to remain a classic. The cookbook includes how-to's for brining and injecting, with recipes for beer-can chicken accompaniments and delicious desserts, not to mention the wide range of beer-can chicken (and turkey) recipes for cooking the best in Flavor Infusion.
“Zen and the Art of Cooking Beer-Can Chicken” is one of the most complete and definitive guides to cooking beer-can chicken. There are over 40 recipes for chicken and turkey (or the poultry of your choice!) and recipes for accompaniments designed to complement the beer-can poultry meal. Finish the meal off with one of the wonderful dessert recipes. One of the easiest to use and fun cookbooks ever written! In June of 2003, the author, Cary Black had the privilege of working with Tom Simon the inventor of the Poultry Pal® through their respective place of employment. Cary had been hired as a contract technical writer and Tom was one of his key resources for the assignment. The timing of the meeting could not have been better, as Tom was in the initial phases of developing and patenting the Poultry Pal® infusion cooker. Tom invited Cary to write some “tongue-in-cheek”, humorous recipes for the initial pamphlet to be included with the Poultry Pal® beer-can chicken cooker.
As Cary began the writing, the list of beer-can chicken recipes grew. The humor and fun inherent in the writing of the material took on a life of its own and the project ultimately evolved into the “Zen and the Art of Cooking Beer-Can Chicken” cookbook.
